A bit about me

I am a fine art printmaker-artist, creating original linocut and collagraph monoprints as well as small limited editions. Following a printmaking course over a decade ago at the Oxford Printmakers, I became a member of the Birmingham Printmakers with whom I exhibited regularly before a move to Leicestershire. I am an elected member of the Leicester Society of Artists  and a full member of the Leicester Print Workshop.

My work combines the bold mark-making of carving with subtle free-inking to explore hidden landscapes, people and birds, connections and isolation through abstract and semi-abstract form. I am drawn to the tension formed between these graphic blocks and the more painterly sweeps of colour.

Through my work, I aim to explore the quiet and internalised relationships we share with each other and the world around us, and in doing so, my original prints are informed by our eroded and repaired surroundings, finding beauty in the broken.

Artists who inspire me include Joan Eardley, Barbara Hepworth. Keith Vaughan...and so many more besides.
