About me

I am a fine art printmaker willingly lost in stolen moments.

Both bold mark-making and subtler loose inkwork help me to explore hidden landscapes, figures, connections and isolation through abstract and semi-abstract form. Somewhere in the margins of quiet and internalised relationships there is a place we share with each other and I have been coming back to visit this spot since I was a child and first realised that we are all, in fact, separate. Completely apart and utterly together. Texture and tone is informed and inspired by our eroded and repaired surroundings, where there is beauty in the broken.

I am an elected member of the Leicester Society of Artists  and a full member of the Leicester Print Workshop.

Before I became a full time artist, I studied languages at the University of Birmingham (BA Hons 1991), enjoyed living and working in France for a little while,  then qualified professionally and worked in law.

Over the years since then and alongside my studio practice, I have also taught in FE colleges and more recently led art workshops for both children and adults.  Based now in the Leicestershire town of Market Harborough, with a busy family life, I still find time to  read, visit galleries, drink copious cups of coffee and mooch about old record shops to build up my record collection. Again.
